Stepping out in faith
Hello Everyone
God bless you this day.
Stepping out in faith is something we all think about, talk about, and actually do in the small stuff. But, what about those big ole steps? Some of those big steps can overwhelm us, if we allow.
Can you imagine what it was like for the Israelites when they took their first big ole step into the parted Red Sea? Was it a matter of ...you first or no, you first. I guess if people are chasing you, you tend to just go into survival mode. But, even if we don't see anyone chasing us, those big challenges can feel like it, huh? like an unseen enemy..."the what ifs" nipping at our heals.
or...
how about those carrying the Ark of the Covenant -- taking those big ole steps into the rushing Jordan River to cross over and get to the Promised Land?
Moses knew the land better than most, I would imagine, so as they were approaching the Red Sea, do you suppose Moses was thinking something like ... Oh Lord, I know You must have a plan, but right now, by knees are about to buckle and I'm shaking in my sandals.
How about the men that were carrying the Ark of the Covenant? Thoughts, perhaps, of feigning a back spasm so someone else would have to do it? "Ohhhhh, cramp, cramp, I got a cramp -- somebody, take this!"
I jest a little, but, aren't we all called to step out in faith? Whatever your challenge today, keep thoughts of our Lord in your heart and the name of Jesus on your lips, and He will see you through.
God is so Good!!!
God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack
