Fragile

Fragile
I am smothered,
in a blanket of despair.
Not one soft and warm,
with love and care.
It is so rough,
scraping the skin.
A little naked body,
so fragile, so thin.
Huddled alone,
in darkness and fear.
But it is safer to hide,
when the evil is near.
Safer to lay here,
under a blanket of pain.
When to be seen,
is to be hurt again.
A witness to more than,
she can comprehend.
Cover your eyes,
and learn to pretend.
This is my blanket,
tulips a bed of flowers.
And I am a unicorn,
with super powers.
I can jump,
jump so high.
Above the horror,
to the rainbow in the sky.
