Evening Fireplace

As we sit in the evening
At the end of our day
Against the backdrop of
A fire crackling it's
Peaceful gift to our senses
We reflect upon our day.
We see ourselves within
The other and cherish that
Little particle of joy that
Wasn't there yesterday
Cherished the smallest of
Things that were hidden
As recently as morning.
We made some mistakes
We strived to correct them
Some things could have been
Done better but then there is
Tomorrow; today has passed
And its forgiven long before
It begins to prey upon the mind.
Our hearts are warm, the fire
Is sparking, we close our hands
Locked together to anticipate
The glory of a new day tomorrow
When we'll awaken with a smile
And cherish the glory of each other.
At the end of our day
Against the backdrop of
A fire crackling it's
Peaceful gift to our senses
We reflect upon our day.
We see ourselves within
The other and cherish that
Little particle of joy that
Wasn't there yesterday
Cherished the smallest of
Things that were hidden
As recently as morning.
We made some mistakes
We strived to correct them
Some things could have been

Locked together to anticipate
The glory of a new day tomorrow

And cherish the glory of each other.
