A Bird Sings

Welcome to the morning
How lovely is the sky
There's joy in me this
Morning and I really don't
Know why but it may be
That the bird sings its
Happy song after sleeping
All night long, and soon
The sun will be overhead
Time to find a crust of bread.
Or the joy may be a happy
Thought, sometimes we have
Those a lot and when we walk
We sing a song, maybe a new one
Perhaps one from days of old.
And we skip a step and a word
Or two as we whistle an interlude
Where time has dememorized
The lines we once knew, but
Who cares, no one is listening
Anyway and the bird is too young to know.
How lovely is the sky
There's joy in me this
Morning and I really don't
Know why but it may be
That the bird sings its
Happy song after sleeping
All night long, and soon
The sun will be overhead
Time to find a crust of bread.
Or the joy may be a happy
Thought, sometimes we have
Those a lot and when we walk
We sing a song, maybe a new one
Perhaps one from days of old.
And we skip a step and a word
Or two as we whistle an interlude
Where time has dememorized
The lines we once knew, but
Who cares, no one is listening
Anyway and the bird is too young to know.
