A Haiku Day
Each 3 line poem is individual and stands on its own, not part of a longer poem.
A smile
Deep inside me
Tickled by a thought.
Dark day
Steady rain
Bed is warm.
Morning light
I awaken to test
A borrowed heart.
Very dark sky
Full moon
A sparrow cries.
A cracked mirror
Images of my face
A puzzle missing a piece.
Two dancing in the sand
A tickling breeze
The moon drops.
I look at warm red flowers
The world is still
Snail speeds by.
Bells echo in the hollow
Temple doors fly open
A pilgrim passes through.
River moving
No fish today
Chinese man walks home.
Old gentleman looks out window
Air bubble passes
He smiles.
I tread softly up the stairs
No one lives there, still
No need to awaken them.
Grandfather sits in chair
Watching something
His eyes close.
Satin pillow case
Caressed with flowing hair
Warm red lips.
Dark autumn morning
Dew covered grass
Sidewalks deserted
Early morning falling
Closer to noon now
A seagull squawks.
Dirty public washroom
Water trickling steadily
Happy I don't need to sit.
Cold autumn morning descends
Sparrows look for seeds
Bowl is empty.
A smile
Deep inside me
Tickled by a thought.
