The prayer of imperfection
The prayer of imperfection
Dear God,
I am scared of everything, I can not be a good Christian,it’ s not in me to be good. I can not say I am saved because I am not good enough to be saved. I can’t offer you nothing, I cannot guarantee that I will not be mad when things don’t go my way, I can not promise you I will keep the commandments and not follow my peers. The only thing I can offer you is my love and loyalty, no matter how bad things get and no matter how frustrated I am, I will not turn from you because that would be foolish.
I can not quote from the bible because I do know the bible well enough to do so. It’s nearly one year since my church announced I was a “saved christian” in that year, I have gone through a journey. One of the biggest life changed I have ever had. In the year I have learned more about myself, I learned that God has died for my sins and there is nothing I can do to repay him.
I have started and finished a course in film and had one of the best years I have ever had. Even doe I got saved a week before I started college and for the first three months of college, I spent in a panic about sin. I have learned how to stand up to peer pressure and not get drunk with the rest of my classmates.
Dear God, thank you for that year, thank you for finding me and changing me. Thank you for dying for my sins and thank you for film
