I woke up this morning,
on this day you have made
Thinking about you,
and the life that you gave

You didn't have to come
But you did it anyway
You didn't have to die
But you chose to make a way

For three days you went down
into the depths of hell
And then you rose again,
so in God's presence we could forever dwell

The devil cannot hold us,
and death has lost its sting
the enemy is defeated
we have been set free

We needed someone special
To do what no man could do
And God's only son said "i will go,
I will die for you"

We can't even imagine,
the pain he felt that day
The nails driven in his hands
The shame upon his name

He'd done nothing wrong
He'd never told a lie
And he stood silently for us
As the crowd yelled crucify

Hosanna in the Highest
To the King above all Kings
Who came, and died, and rose again,
who did it all for me.
