I wrote this shortly after I let satan destroy my life through his filth
I have wrote several poems some of which I think are alot better than this but this is the one I chose to share hoping someone will read and see the light before it's to late for them also.

WHAT I HAD

WHEN WE MET I KNEW IT WAS MEANT TO BE
BUT YOU OR I THE FUTURE WE CAN'T SEE
US AS ONE AND HAPPINESS FOREVER
I WOULD NOT LET YOU DOWN NO NEVER

I WOULD ALWAYS BE THE MAN YOU WED
AND TRUE TO THE WORDS THAT I SAID
NEVER TO STRAY OR LET YOU DOWN
MY LOVE CONFESSED ALL OVER TOWN

BUT AS OUR TIME SLOWLY PASSED BY
NO LONGER THE APPLE OF YOUR EYE
BECAUSE OF ACTIONS OF MINE
GROWING TO THOSE OF A SWINE

UNTIL THE WORST ANY EVER THOUGHT
AND HURT YOU MORE THAN WHEN WE FOUGHT
NO TURNING BACK TIME TO ERASE THE PAST
PAIN AND DISGUST BY ME LONG TO LAST

REALIZING TO LATE WHAT I'D DESTROYED
BY THE WAYS OF SATAN I WAS EMPLOYED
ALLOWING HIS WAYS TO DESTROY MY LIFE
LOSING WHAT MEANS MOST MY KIDS AND WIFE

NOW I BEG THE LORD MY SOUL TO TAKE
TO LAY AND SLEEP NEVER TO WAKE
BECAUSE LIFE WITHOUT THEM ALL
MEANS NO FURTHER CAN I FALL

MERCY AND FORGIVENESS THEM I BEG
FOR THIS I'D GIVE MY ARMS AND LEGS
SO ALSO TO THE GOOD LORD I'VE PRAYED
THE GOOD OF ME IN THEIR HEART STAYED

JUST ONE MORE CHANCE TO BE THE MAN I WAS TO BE
GIVE THIS TO ME AND I PROMISE YOU WILL SEE
A GOD FEARING LOVING HUSBAND AND DAD
BECAUSE NOW I KNOW ALL OF .WHAT I HAD

This is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing. Writing and poetry are such a great tool God gives us to get our feelings out. I will be praying for the healing of your heart and the heart of your family.

Wow! AWESOME!!! I'm praying for you! Don't listen to satan when he lies to you about yourself or your marriage.... never say never! Remember who is in CONTROL... GOD!!! I know satan tries his best to make us think that all we have done .... will always be the thing that ruined our life for good! That is FARTHER from the TRUTH than you can imagine!!!

If you believe in GOD and you believe in the WORD OF GOD... THEN .. you have to believe ALL OF HIS WORDS.... like the MIRACLES THAT HAPPEN EVERYDAY!!! LIKE HEALING HEARTS!!! LIKE SINNERS BECOMING SAINTS!!! And soooo much more... its all in the BELIEVING!!!

Your day will come... BELIEVE!

thank both of you for your words of encouragement, it has been almost a year since I wrote this and the same amount for the devastating blow to my family, to you Havingfaithagain53 I say that I will not say never but it will truly take one of Gods miracles to put my family back together, but it's ok now because I know now that the things I done were not all of what destroyed my marriage but what drove the final nail, my wife was not happy in the marriage but I kept trying to make her happy in something she didn't want anymore BUT please know it was not her fault she only did what she could with the brokenness I provided, we were not where we should have been when we married but we both tried to make it work, accepting Christ into the marriage but I didn't do my part in giving my all to the Lord, hence my name Christnundrconstruxn.
as for the poetry maybe I will show some of my better more upbeat ones soon, I have about 20 or so my dream is to publish them some day in His honor and use the proceeds for something good like literacy, homeless or hunger those 3 things have always been heavy on my heart
