Snickers (the dog who almost wasn't)

Hey guys I am happy to be here first off and also wanted to tell a story about a dog that ran away. This dog found us and we decided to keep him a night after mom almost ran over him in our 1998 Astro Van (which I now own and operate). She screeched to a halt and my sister jumped out of the van immediately to find a bunch of brown fur and mud that jumped into her arms and got mud all over her new white shirt. You can imagine mom wasn't as happy as my sister but she agreed that we could keep him a night but we would get rid of him in the morning. She would only let us keep him if we gave him a bath and dried him so we all came together (the kids ) and didn't fight or argue just laughed and gave Our new dog a bath. So the next day comes my mom is on the phone calling the pound and the Humane Society. They were completely full (Thank you God). But my mom decided I will take him on leash so far away he will never be able to find his way back. So she told us she was going for a walk and when she returned with a empty collar a couple hours later we were sure he wouldn't be coming back. But about a hour and a half later this dog came back to our house out of breath. So my mom was going crazy and put a add in the local newspaper and was told if noone claimed him in a couple weeks she could have him, that wasn't what she wanted to hear. But something happened in the week and a half and she even started loving him and he wouldn't leave her side (sorry it makes me cry to remember this but it is for God's glory). The last day that we were required to leave the add a call came while we were at Church Sunday. The message to this day makes me cry, "I think you have my dog his name is Snickers... (blah...blah...blah)" So we we called him by the name we had given him first which he knew Buddy and he answered and came but his tail barely wagged. Right when he came my mom called him Snickers and he put his head up tail waving excitedly so my mom in tears called the lady back and said, "Yes we do have your dog please let us have a day more with him." She told my mom she would be over shortly so we gathered around Snickers and were all crying (God had a different plan!). As we waited a expensive car pulled into our driveway. A lady came in our living room and saw all of us. She had a little paper in her hand and handed it to my mom explaining it was Snickers shot records and she was giving him to us cause he had bit her and he wasn't safe around her baby. She then went on to show a scar on her wrist and said it was from Snickers. Snickers had never bit us ever just nibbled but not even enough to feel. But it so happened Snickers was so safe he became certified through TDI (Therapy Dogs International). I hope I touched someones life the way Christ wants me to with even this inspirational story. I thank everyone who reads this and God bless them also!
