Her face was shining,
as she ran round after me
The broken pieces of my heart were realigning
as she showed me what i couldn't see
The joy in her innocent little face
seemed to stop the worlds ever moving pace
She gave me a hug and on to my face crept a smile
She seems to make coming tonight feel worthwhile
Who would've thought i would make a new friend
just by giving a smile and a hug when she needed it
she thinks i helped her
but what she doesn't see
is how much she has helped me
Have you seen a child play, so happy and carefree
She brings out the hiding child in me
A child can teach you soooo so much
innocently unknowingly they gently touch
the heart and it is never the same
Leaving you speechless as they head out to play a game
when something worries a child it is there and gone
by tommorow it is completely forgotton
So i will take a lesson from a child
that life is too short to spend worrying
To shed tears over problems that are only mild
Instead i will play and smile all day
For the joy on her face
is something nothing can replace
