Forgiveness Remix

Postby beautyforashes » Mon Jul 13, 2009 8:02 pm

Like rain in the wind
Like clouds sucked away
Like a full-blown lie
It's words crumble and say

Nothing at all
It's actions reveal
A faith that is dead
A heart that can't feel

If it read the book
and lived as it reads
It's repentant lies
Wouldn't keep it deceived

Seems not what it wants
To face the slick side
Of the hearts it has crushed
Beneath rock-covered lies

Forgiveness comes hard
In the face of disdain
Repugnant thoughts
Gorge themselves on my pain

Do I dare to be open
Trust God to somehow
Change the way that I think
And begin to allow

My faith to be more
than the repulsion I feel
And cause me to forgive
With forgiveness that's real

Be able in heart
To obey God's direction
To let His sweet grace
Begin to heal this infection

Accept what life is
Live full and be free
Unlock the chains that
Have bound it to me

Pray for it's best
To be all it can get
Leave it in the past
And not regret

That I didn't handle
This suffering with grace
That I didn't obey
I let this pain go to waste

May that never be
There was too much cost
There was too much broken
There was too much lost

Father give me the strength
To trust and obey
Knowing vengeance is yours
If I do what you say

Open my chest
Let the anger desist
Dissolve like cold rain
That fades into mist

Forgiveness an offering
That bleeds on and on
Cuts deeper than sin
Through flesh and through bone

Nothing worth gaining
Has ever been wrought
No victory won
From a battle not fought

Didn't want to be here
on this war-field of grace
Didn't want to stand
In this battle-torn place

Here though I am
My struggle on display
My words typed out
Can you hear what I say

To win I must lose
Of that I am sure
To live in the future
Forget things that once were

To forgive is grace
On display before men
Though it may feel as if
It's letting sin win

But is that true
Does God's word end
With evil victorious
With the triumph of sin

NO NEVER! I have
Read the last page
Death and sin will be
Vanquished away

Forgiveness offered
On a plate of gold
Torn from my heart
And ripped from my soul

Will in the eternal
Be seen as the wealth
That is bestowed on another
To enrich myself...

how to forgive

freely

"Freely you have received,

freely give." (in Matthew 10:8)

with a willing heart . . .

how God transforms us to this

in His peace . . .

so we are on top of things . . .

like Jesus on the cross

was on top of things (o:

saying and praying

"Father, forgive them,

for they do not know what they do."

(in Luke 23:34)

freely and generously to those people

who were still busy with hating and despising

and torturing and cursing and killing God's own Son

while I can see they could care less about being forgiven >

Jesus did it, anyway, and *then was when*

that "thief on the cross" gave himself to Jesus . . .

a-f-t-e-r Jesus prayed out that forgiveness >

so, I can see someone got it (o: it was not for nothing (o:

it changed a man who had been bad-mouthing Jesus,

according to what I read in Matthew 27:44 >

"Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing."

So, *both* of them were bad-mouthing Jesus, at first,

I can see.

But then Jesus *prayed* forgiveness,

and one of them turned to Jesus.

So, it is worth it.

do it as beautifully and sweetly and wonderfully as you can,

so this can spread to make others the same way >

*this* is the perfect revenge against Satan and his kingdom (o:

to forgive so he can't have power over you

and so others can be changed so he can't use them, any more

vengeance is the LORD's and

this is the revenge of perfectionists (o:

Well, Beauty, that's a "little" ahead of how I really am, myself, but I'd say this is what God has given me, and we need our lifetime, here, to grow and mature and be corrected to how we can be with God in His love.

God bless you . . . thank you, sister (o:

Oh, and by the way . . . if you have been with an abuser . . . you might have the impression that someone nonabusive would be so appreciated and it would be so easier > but I have been a turn-the-other-cheek person, for some time > I got attacked, beat up, a razor to my throat, etc. > there was nothing to all that > but . . . living with my mother . . . . spending more time with my church people, here . . . dealing with my family who relates verbally and not usually negatively . . . for me, this has required that I deal with finding out how to love.

I'd guess, that with ones who are nicer with us, we can get to expecting things and expecting more of them than they really are, then get in clashes and even get hurt, often because of what I imagined, in my case. So, with people, I think, this is my challenge . . . to find out how to love each one, instead of going after what I want.

"Reading the last page" is what gets me through a lot of trials also and prompts me to "go by the book"... you've penned it beautifully. It's a pleasure to read your writings.
