"A Brief Time Reply"

A brief time in this life
Were you with me by my side
Holding me tight to yourself
Never letting the evil to harm
The tender heart that lived within
Your words spoken from heaven
Did reach my ears so tenderly
This now I write to my dear love
My reply to you tonight I share
The words stored within my heart
You left me so suddenly in the night,
No time did I have to say goodbye
I miss you more than words can show,
For now no one holds me as you once did
Who in all the world can replace you my love?
There are none now who live like you
Many tears have I shed in remembrance
Of my love now departed for heaven
Now more time on this earth you have,
But mine without you does go on each day.
He sent His angel to take you home,
But what now shall I do on earth
Without my love this life to share
Who shall with our little children share
The knowledge that was yours only
To give your little ones so tender and dear.
I know in His arms me He does hold,
But the warmth is not the same as yours
For His arms I cannot feel embracing,
Around me so tight as yours once did.
Feelings of hurt did engulf my soul,
As you slipped away to the life to come
How He could take my love far away
Many times have I asked this of Him?
The pain you felt I know He never caused,
But did He have to take away my love?
My tears were enough to fill the oceans,
Wishing my love to me would return.
What now my love to my heart so dear,
Shall I do in this life that does last so long?
Now my love shall my face return,
To look at Him who loves above all.
My pain and tears I now turn over to Him
So He may replace all with joy and hope.
For one day soon I pray to come
I shall be joined with my love once more
Spending the days strolling along
The golden ways of Heavens streets
Worshiping the King of all the universe
At His glorious throne of purest white
