SEEDS AND
FAITH

READ:
whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap.
__Galatians 6:7

I read a fable about a man who was browsing in a store when he made the shocking discovery that God was behind a sales counter. So the man walked over and asked, "What are You selling?" God replied, "What does your heart desire?" The man said, "I want happiness, peace of mind, and freedom from fear...for me and the whole world." God smiled and said, "I don't sell fruit here. Only seeds."

In Galatians 6, Paul stressed the importance of sowing seeds of God-honoring behavior, for "whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (v.7). We can't expect to experience the fruit of God's blessings if we don't recognize the importance of doing our part.

It helps to follow the example of others who have sown good seed. Author Samuel Shoemaker said that a good example can either inspire us or cause us to say, "Oh yes, he (or she) is like that. He is not troubled by temper or nerves or impatience or worry as I am; he is just a happier temperament." Shoemaker continued, "It may not occur to us that perhaps he had to fight for his serenity, and that we might win if we would do the same."

Are you weary of the way you are? Ask God for His help and begin sowing seeds of new actions and responses today. In due season the Spirit will give the increase. __Joanie Yoder

The seeds we sow today
determine the kind of fruit we'll reap tomorrow.

**************Today's Bible Reading __ Galatians 6:7-10***********

7 Do not be deceived, God
is not mocked; for whatever
a man sows, that he will
also reap. 8 For he who
sows to his flesh will of the
flesh reap corruption, but he
who sows to the Spirit will
of the Spirit reap
everlasting life. 9 And let us
not grow weary while doing
good, for in due season we
shall reap if we don not lose
heart. 10 Therefore, as we
have opportunity, let us do
good to all, especially to
those who are of the
household of faith.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>INSIGHT<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Notice that in Galatians 6 Paul equates sowing to the Spirit (v.8)
with doing good (vv.9-10). It is such an important matter, in fact,
that he encourages us not to despair or grow fatigued in sowing
good deeds, because eventually those deeds will be rewarded. And,
while we must be careful to do good for fellow believers, we are not
to limit our acts of kindness to followers of christ. Rather, we are to
"do good to all" (v.10). In any discussion of good works, however,
we must be reminded that we do not earn a relationship with God
through good works (Eph. 2:8-9). They are the outflow of a right
relationship with Him (v.10). __BILL CROWDER

Ahhh seeds, Yes!

His seeds, the ones we plant in others, will grow over time, His time... and by doing His work, we strengthen tomorrows promise. As those seeds grow and mature, the individuals in whom the seeds are sewn, seek others to share the love and knowledge they have within them. Also true, are the seeds we cultivate in our own gardens, by studying His word and doing His work. When our seeds have taken root and grown we will enjoy the time of giving that comes with each harvest.

We are all working together for His purpose.

Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing Sister Cimi!! *Hug9*

Peace and Luv in Christ,
