What's the first image you see when you turn on your computer? Maybe it's a family portrait or a special vacation picture. Or perhaps your favorite pro athlete.

How about an artist's rendition of Jesus? A man once wrote to me about his lengthy battle with pornography__a disheartening cycle that punctuated seasons of victory with crushing forays back into an online world of empty lust. Finally, he found that putting a visible reminder of Jesus in the corner of his computer screen helped him achieve lasting victory. That constant reminder of the One who set him free caused the offensive Web sites to lose their appeal. The man wasn't tapping into some gigabyte good-luck charm. He was giving himself a simple reminder of the teaching of Colossians 3 where Paul says, "put to death...fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness" (v.5).

When we turn our eyes toward Jesus, He becomes a powerful reminder that our old life "died, and [our] life is hidden with Christ in God" (v.3). Whether it's a verse taped to the dashboard of your car or a picture on your computer, choose a tangible way to lift your thoughts into the presence of Jesus. __Joe Stowell

The best way to keep sin at a distance is to make sure
Jesus stands between you and temptation.

***********Today's Bible Reading __ Colossians 3:1-10*************

1 If then you were raised
with Christ, seek those
things which are above,
where Christ is, sitting at
the right hand of God. 2 Set
your mind on things above,
not on things on the earth.

3 For you died, and your life
is hidden with Christ in
God. 4 When Christ who is
our life appears, then you
also will appear with Him
in glory.

5 Therefore put to death
your members which are on
the earth: fornication,
uncleanness, passion, evil
desire, and covetousness,
which is idolatry. 6 Because
of these things the wrath of
God is coming upon the
sons of disobedience, 7 in
which you yourselves once
walked when you lived in
them.

8 But now you yourselves
are to put off all these:
anger, wrath, malice,
blasphemy, filthy language
out of your mouth. 9 Do not
lie to one another, since you
have put off the old man
with his deeds, 10 and have
put on the new man who is
renewed in knowledge
according to the image of
Him who created him.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>INSIGHT<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

"For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God" (Col. 3:3).
In God's eyes, believers are dead to the former life of guilt and sin
at conversion. We are to reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive to
God (Rom. 6:11). Our new spiritual life in Christ will one day result
in bodily resurrection. Prior to that day of glorification, our lives are
said to be "hidden with Christ." __DENNIS FISHER

Hi

Lizzie.

Sorry to you and everyone else who reads these Posts. I am more busy than I've ever been in my life! I am asking the Lord to help me develop a tighter schedule so that I can continue to type out the "Our Daily Breads." I know I wont be able to do this without His help. Also, I've been feeling His presence so much lately that I'm getting scared that I might lose it. Perhaps it is the Devil that is keeping me so busy that I don't have time to read His Word or to be here and type--I don't know. I was thinking it was God doing this for me, at first, but then I thought that He wouldn't keep me so busy that I get distracted from developing a closer relationship with Jesus.

Love in Christ,
Clare

sister clare *hug*

Remember the story of mary and martha? And which the Lord said was the better choice?

As difficult as it may be, we must do all we can to ensure that activity even service to God, does not take away from us spending that one on one time with Him.

You really are missed here. I hope you will stop in soon and let us know how you are.

God bless u sis
