On This National Day of Prayer: A Powerful Prayer

I came across this powerful prayer from The Women's Prayer Army. It is most appropriate for this National Day of Prayer!

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER 3.15.2020
Lord, You have our attention. We know that You work ALL things together for our good, and we know You are at work in our nation. As we bring our petitions to You, we first humble ourselves in your presence, and ask you to forgive us and cleanse our land. Forgive us that it took a global pandemic to bring the nation to this place of prayer. You have tried to get our attention in many ways, and You have it now.


“I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.” Matthew 18:19


This Word “agree” here, in the Greek is symphoneo. Our agreement here is not just an intellectual agreement, it is a symphony of like minds and hearts! I think of the distinction like this; an orchestra is a group of musicians with a variety of instruments. Our prayers of “agreement” can sometimes be an orchestra – a lot of words but no cohesive movement. A symphony is a large-scale musical composition, with each instrument playing its part, contributing toward the beauty of the whole! Lord, we offer a symphony to you today!


 We ask Lord, for a stop to the spread of this virus.


 We pray for those infected with the virus. We ask for the supernatural! We ask for miracle recoveries, especially for the weakest among us.


 We pray for all those exposed to the virus to be given immune systems strong enough to fight it off.


 We pray for healthcare workers who are over-taxed even on the best of days! Protect them, Lord. Strengthen them, Lord! Extra patience and energy, Lord! Divinely protect them from the exposure to this and other sickness and disease.


 We pray for our leaders, Lord, whether in government or business. Give them the wisdom they need to meet the needs of Your people. Grant them grace sufficient to meet the physical demands that are being placed upon them.


 We pray for teachers who are on the front lines working with the children of our nation. Grant them supernatural protection from sickness. Give them a words of peace for children that are frightened or anxious about what is happening around the world.


 We pray for parents Lord who are struggling to work and raise families and now have to come up with childcare solutions for kids whose schools have been closed. Give them favor with their employers and bring people to their side to help.


 Protect our children, Lord, not only from sickness, but from the fear and anxiety that is permeating the atmosphere right now.


 Protect our elderly, Lord. We know they are most vulnerable not only to the virus, but to being isolated and without help. Lead us to those we can help.


 We ask for your provision for all who have been impacted financially by the emergency response to this virus. Help us to help others we know are in need! We pray for those who have lost jobs due to closures, or those who are hourly wage earners working in industries severely impacted. Collectively, we all have enough to care for one another!


 Lord, we stand in agreement now to come against the spirits at work against our nation. They are masters at exploiting weakness and moving in to stir things up. BUT GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN US THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD! We bind panic, hysteria, confusion, sickness, infirmity, fear, anxiety, greed, hoarding, deception, lies, poverty, isolation and loneliness. We ask you Holy Spirit to expose and reveal every other demonic power at work so we can bind it and cast it down. We ask Lord, that Your angels, the mighty ones who do YOUR bidding, would be dispatched to pull down every stronghold and disarm and apprehend every demonic army that is at work.


 Lord, we further ask for you to expose the true origins of this virus. We ask that YOU would expose whatever is attempting to hide in the darkness right now. Shine YOUR light on the Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are harvesting fetal cells to use in the vaccines they produce.


 Lord, we are living in days where we are globally connected. For good or bad, that is the way it is. Give us eyes to see the big picture of how what is happening today will play out in the days and years ahead. Protect us from acting imprudently, based upon our limited information. Now, more than ever we need YOUR wisdom! You know our todays AND our tomorrows! Help us all to trust YOU more.


 Lord, we ask for a great harvest of souls! People are fearful and the only true antidote to fear is the Prince of Peace! Help us to share YOUR gospel of salvation, peace, reconciliation and restoration.


 Lord, we pray that YOUR people would come to a full understanding that WE are the church. It’s not a building, it’s not somewhere we go on Sundays. WE are the church and we can never be cancelled!


Lord, I know there are many other requests we could bring before You, but right now, I want to stop and say THANK YOU.


THANK YOU for who You are.


THANK YOU that You are in control. You are sovereign.


THANK YOU that You are omnipotent. Nothing gets by you!


THANK YOU that You have a plan that was established before the foundations of the world.


THANK YOU that Your plan is perfect.


THANK YOU that Your ways are above our ways.


THANK YOU THAT You are wisdom


THANK YOU that You are just.


THANK YOU that you are kind and merciful, full of love and compassion.


THANK YOU that You are faithful.


THANK YOU that You are provider. “Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.” Heb 13:5


THANK YOU that You give peace that surpasses all human understanding.


THANK YOU that You are healer. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.” Ps 103:2,3


THANK YOU that You are always here for us and with us. “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” Phil 1:6


THANK YOU for your strength. “ Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deut 31:6


THANK YOU THAT You gave Your Son. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16


THANK YOU for Your Spirit. “But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. John 14:26


THANK YOU for everything You are teaching us.


THANK YOU for what You are preparing us for.


THANK YOU for showing us these ‘sign posts’ along the journey.


THANK YOU for eyes to see and ears to hear what You are showing us.


THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD FATHER!
