Understanding the Law of Faith

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Understanding the Law of Faith

Hello Christianity Oasis, All! How are ya?

Understanding the Law of Faith
The following series of articles are intended to grow one's understanding of faith, especially the why and the how it is able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, and why we really don't have any reason to doubt that God will fulfill all of His great and precious promises to us…if, no matter what we find ourselves caught up in, we continue to believe upon our Lord Jesus, his boundless forgiveness, boundless love, and the boundless ability of His blood to cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
Have you lost your faith to some degree? Do you feel like you can’t be reconciled to God because of the disgusting things you have done as a Christian? Do you think you have no way back into the right standing of God’s abundant grace? Do you feel depressed, ashamed, forlorn, lonely and lost? Do you have little hope and/or faith in God? If so, and quite the understatement, you are a very unhappy person. Each day burdens you. You feel as though a dark cloud is hovering over you, and Sundays burden you even more. You would like to be received back into fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, but you feel they are as distant to you as God is. You are afraid those of the Lord will condemn you if you seek reconciliation with them and make you feel even worse than you do right now.
If you answered yes to any of the questions or statements in the preceding paragraph you are in need of some serious spiritual medicine to slap on that wound. Deep wounds do not heal easily and the first application of antiseptic usually stings the most. The nurse says, “Now this is going to hurt a little bit.”…An understatement, but nonetheless, here it is. “How far will God go to forgive us and grant us repentance after we have become a Christian and fallen back into a life of sin?”
Point blank…!!! He will go as far as our faith in Him goes! If you are like one of those I mentioned above your problem isn’t that you gave into some temptation that is natural among men and/or women. That isn’t correct. Here is what Jesus said about sin.
Mark.3 [28] Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies where-wither-soever they shall blaspheme: Even if you think you have blasphemed the Holy Ghost you haven’t. Are you a high priest such as Caiafas, the man in charge of the plot to kill Jesus? Have you been a Catholic priest or any minister of God for 30 years and experienced all spiritual things such that you know and understand the consequences of demanding God leave you and never return? No, I didn’t think so. Here is the truth of the matter.

Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. Did he just die for sins of the world up until the time of His crucifixion or did His death apply to us as well? Will it apply to those that repent and believe in Him tomorrow, and the next day, and the next year etc. Of course it will! Not only did Jesus pay the price for our redemption, but His blood is an everlasting statement to God Almighty and to us that all that believe in Him have peace with Him and grace from Him. (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost that is, for they are “One.”) In other words, all sins we have committed have been taken care of in the Blood of the Lamb. The problem isn’t our sin in the flesh. The problem is our sin of unbelief.
That problem, (unbelief), is being exacerbated by our thoughts of doubt and doubts implanted in our mind by an evil spirit. The antiseptic we apply to that problem isn’t quite as painful as admitting we are guilty of allowing lying thoughts to be more truthful to us than the Word of God. However, there is a solution to our problem. The Apostle Paul gives us the remedy in the form of an elixir, (a bottle of medicine). Paul, our physician, said to us, “We must cast down every imagination and high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.”
2Cor.10 [5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Now lets review a little. We have been to the doctor. He applied the correct antiseptic to our wound. We admit we had fallen into unbelief. It stung like heck, but once we accepted the fact our treatment was going to be painful and that pain was part of the healing process, it wasn’t quite so bad after all. Our sin wasn’t at all what we thought it was. We were focusing too much on the deed of the flesh rather on the more important matter of faith in God and His faithfulness to us.
The second thing the doctor did for us was give us an elixir. We can’t just treat the flesh wound, we have to disinfect our mind and heart too. The bottle had the following inscription on it. “Washing of the Word of God.” Directions on the label said, “Cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself above the knowledge of God.” The doctor took the bottle from you and poured about a tablespoonful out in a small plastic cup. He said, “Drink this now because I want to be sure you understand how the elixir works.” You drank the cup.
The doctor continued. “Now look into your mind. What do you see or hear?”
You replied that you heard thoughts saying, “This is never going to work. You are wasting your time and money here on medicine that will never work. You can’t be forgiven. Everyone hates you and thinks you are worthless.
“Uh huh,” the doctor says. “Just as I thought…you must cast those thoughts down.”
You gave him a puzzled look. He smiled and retrieved another bottle of elixir. The bottle read. “Spirit of Truth.” The directions said, “Take one tablespoon each time you see or hear condemnation in your mind. You will then speak these words to the voice.”
The Apostle John said, “If we confess our sin Jesus is faithful and just to cleanse of all unrighteousness.” Say to any condemning thought or voice after you have confessed your sin. “I have confessed my sin to God and have been forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness. Also say to thoughts of yours or the devil that condemn you. “You Are A Liar! The Words of God are Truth and Health to me!! I believe in God, His grace of forgiveness, and the Blood of the Everlasting Covenant that declares all righteous that believe Him. I believe I have, am being, and will be saved through faith No matter what, I’m a saint, not a sinner!!”
You followed the doctor’s directions and spoke to the voices of unbelief exalting themselves above the Word of God. You immediately began to feel a little better.
The doctor smiled and said to you. “For the most part your faith has been restored by the Truth that is in the Word of God. You are now in right standing with God the Father, Son, And Holy Spirit as they are one. However, you must apply the disinfectant to the wound each day declaring yourself to be a believer in the Words of God, and take the elixirs each day as needed. Just remember…confess your faith in God’s Words of Truth when thoughts enter your mind that are opposite of what God’s Word says about forgiveness and cleansing you of all unrighteousness.
Now return to church and have fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. If someone attempts to bring you down, set them straight in a hurry, but with a confident, but kind voice say,”
“Mr. and Mrs. Strife, I have confessed my sin, received forgiveness and cleansing and am now in right standing with God and with you.”
“Oh, one last thing,” the doctor said. “Make an appointment on your way out to see me again next week. I want to see how well you are doing, and, if necessary, prescribe more medicine.”

End, Part 1

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
