AM I THE ONLY ONE..................

Hi all, I am new to this forum and I am glad I found it. In 2009, I met a wonderful man who loved God and was very active in his church. The only problem was that his ex-wife still attended the church which made thing awkward at first. Eventually, he stopped going and we decided to find a church of our own but for some reason that never took place. Into our relationship we became engaged to be married on St. Patrick's Day 2012 well now, everything has come to a halt on his behalf. Now, he is saying everything was rushed and he now wants a break from the relationship. I believe in my heart that people have been talking to him and now he is all confused. I have stepped out of the way, I didn't give him any problems and I have also told him that I have some major decisions that I have to make and to not to contact me. This has been very hard for me because I am 46 and my prayer has been for a mate in which after 19 months of being together, being engaged, I knew in my heart that this was the man God placed in my life for me!!! How did we go from dating 19 months, being engaged and planning a wedding to nothing? AM I THE ONLY ONE.................

Wow, this must be a difficult time for you right now. I'm sorry for the hurt and confusion that your heart must be feeling right now. (((hugs))) But, please know this, The Lord does love you so very much, and His desire is for you to understand His call on your life.

I want to ask a few questions, if I may, to get a better picture of what took place in your relationship.

One of the first things you said about this man is:

You also mentioned due to the fact that his ex-wife also attended that church (building) that you both stopped going, in hopes of finding another church (building), however, it never happened. Did you continue to seek The Lord together, and make Him first in your relationship?

Also, how long had he and his ex-wife (both seemingly seeking God and His will) been divorced prior to your meeting him?

Can you explain, in a little more detail, why you felt it was God Who placed him in your life?
