You got it sis. God brings peace not confusion. His way is always easy, as He is opening the doors for you.

As far as that fear sis...I think anything new can cause us to tremble a bit, but this is where trusting God comes in. He is using you...and He will do all the work...you just have to be willing. :)

luv ya bunches

Job

Postby rockyrun34 » Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:49 am

The lesson/step today was about the story of Job. I have always been drawn to this story, because God allowed things to fall away from him and plague him. But, in the end, Job remained faithful.

The things I have gone through, are gonna be part of the walk. Focus on Jesus, not the trial. The story of Job shows that God has a "wall of protection" around us. Evil will not overcome, if we just keep our eyes on the Lord.

I read through some of my grandfather's writings last night, and I found, "Here I am Lord, You Call". These were written years, ago, and I have been blessed with reading this now. He led me to Jesus and knew my heart. For that I am Thankful. God is Great.

One thing we have to know and believe when we are answering our call is that God will never leave us nor forsake us. If we doubt that, then we will begin doubting what God can truly do through us. The story of Job shows that God will always be there. That no matter what comes our direction, that He won't let us falter if we keep our focus on Him, and His cause.

Your doing well with the steps rockyrun.

Keep at it.

I love to hear stories of people and their grandparents. :) You are blessed.

I'm also enjoying watching your walk with the Lord. *angelbounce*

You know rocky, when God had me going through my walk, He gave me Scripture that I would go to over and over again (you would think I would have memorized it but I would have to open the Bible to read it again) The main one was Isaiah 41:9-13

I called you. I have chosen you and have not rejected you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will up hold you with my righteous right hand.
All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced, those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage against you will be as nothing at all.
For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you.

Also Psalm 37:6-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:19-24 and Psalm 119:139

He also had me volunteer at the hospital, knowing that I needed something to keep me lifted up during this time. The things I was not allowed to do in the church, I was more then free to do at the hospital.

Without these Scriptures, the hospital volunteering and my mentor sister (who really is my sister :)) I would never have made it... not only that, I would have been full of pride and not an open conduit for God if He hadn't put me through what I needed to go through.

So now I say "Okay God, use me for whatever you need me to do"

Father God,

I know that you will protect us and watch over us. It was confirmed this morning that something is moving here. I am praying for your light and guidance in the things revealed to me today. I pray for a protective shield over this apartment. Please help me to be swift and sharp, when the enemy approaches. It is only you who can help me do this or rather, thank You ahead for protecting us. The things revealed are true to your spirit moving. This is the ultimate battle.

And God will protect you. The things He reveals to you, is something new all the time. See it's like having a great mystery, and God reveals as He chooses the mystery to those who He feels will listen and hear. Glad you are listening.

There is an endless war going on sis...it's a battle for souls. We are in the midst of this battle all the time. We have to continually fight the battle, never fainting...for God is with us always.

Finished Steps

Postby rockyrun34 » Mon Oct 26, 2009 8:36 am

I have finished the steps and came to the following conclusions:

Always go to the Bible first. Trust the Lord and the Word above anything else.

Do not go by what others feel your calling is.

Do not seek other's wisdom for your life. Seek and find it in God's word.

Pray for the Lord to reveal, if anything is of false teaching.

If things don't feel right in the gut - don't ignore it - trust it.

Yea!!! The Rock!!

That gut feeling is where the Holy Spirit resides.
I will find myself during worship praising with my left hand raised and my right on my stomach.
I will find myself praying for someone with my right hand on the person and my left hand is... oh yea, on my gut. ;)

I am sorry you got hurt by this other person but look at what good God has made of it.
Thank you Lord
Thank you Jesus

Amen, the Bible is where Truth is always found. And remember it's a living Bible, so what one person interprets as one thing, another will read and interpret it a bit differently depending on how it applies to their life at the time. But the One Truth we can all agree upon is that Jesus died for our sins and we are forgiven by grace.

Praying God brings you what you seek.

Break

Postby rockyrun34 » Tue Oct 27, 2009 5:07 am

Yes yes

Thanks you two. I forgot to add that we shouldn't judge others that do not know what they may be doing. And maybe, we really don't know what they are doing. Because I've done some pretty dumb stuff in my past in which I've had to ask forgiveness. It is only for God to judge, not me. I think I had trouble in how to discern things without judging, instead of rather just talking the Truth through with someone. That is becoming clearer. And I must DISCERN things and then choose whether to engage or not.

Bottom line - now going through Oasis steps - Judging and Unforgiveness flat out scare me, or rather the healthy fear of God has taken over. I do think that the world can be a scary place, and we must discern God's word in all situations and how to encounter everything. Oh yeah - and don't overthink things.

I am taking a little break from Oasis. Need to spend time in the Word, privately away from things. I got a part time job for one day a week. Yeah. Going to still volunteer, write, and work on discerning this calling of mine.

luv ya
