Dear God Letters

Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I, in the midst of them.

⁹ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
¹⁰ Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in Earth, as it is in Heaven.
¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread.
¹² And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

³⁹ And He went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
⁴⁰ And He cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
⁴¹ Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
⁴² He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

A Psalm of David

¹ The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
² He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
³ He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
⁵ Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
²⁶ Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

⁴¹ Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
⁴² And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
⁴³ And when He thus had spoken, He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

²³ And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
²⁴ Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
²⁵ He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
²⁷ Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
²⁸ Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from Heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
²⁹ The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to Him.

¹ These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
² As thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given Him.
³ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
⁴ I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
⁵ And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
⁶ I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy Word.
⁷ Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
⁸ For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
⁹ I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
¹⁰ And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
¹¹ And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
¹³ And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
¹⁴ I have given them thy Word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
¹⁵ I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
¹⁶ They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
¹⁷ Sanctify them through thy Truth: thy Word is Truth.
¹⁸ As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the Truth.
²⁰ Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
²¹ That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
²² And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
²⁴ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
²⁵ O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
²⁶ And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

³⁶ Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
³⁷ And He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
³⁸ Then saith He unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

⁴⁵ Then cometh He to His disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
⁴⁶ Rise, let us be going: behold, He is at hand that doth betray me.

³² And there were also two other, malefactors, led with Him to be put to death.
³³ And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
³⁴ Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted His raiment, and cast lots.

³³ And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
³⁴ And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
³⁵ And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, He calleth Elias.
³⁶ And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave Him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take Him down.
³⁷ And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

²⁸ After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
²⁹ Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
³⁰ When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.

⁴⁴ And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
⁴⁵ And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
⁴⁶ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, He gave up the ghost.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.
