Christians Divorce Path to Peace

Christian Divorce Bible Verses Explained

Let us begin our absolutely hope inspiring divorce Bible verses study, shall we? We will be looking at Christian divorce laws and Christian divorce Scripture within the Bible as to know the Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth to provide true Christian divorce counseling. We will begin with the Christian divorce laws research by asking when Christian divorce can occur and when Christian divorce cannot occur? Many Christians believe that once they marry that they are bound to the marriage by God's law and if they try and get out of the marriage, for any reason ... That they sin against God and are doomed.

They may be right ... In some cases. However, does the Bible say anything about abusive marriages, being cheated on or marriages that were just not meant to be? Let us seek within the Bible for the whole Truth of Christian divorce laws, according to God and not man.

Did you know that if a married woman, who is being physically abused by her husband in a marriage, approaches her pastor, preacher, Religious leader or even another Christian that most of the time, she will be told that she has to stay in that marriage due to Christian marriage laws? They even go on to say that if that hurting soul flees the fear, pain and suffering that she endures, day in and day out, that she will sin against God and be sentenced to hell.

Well, well, well, the Pharisees are back!

This is not Truth !!!

It must be nice sitting in a righteous marriage and passing judgment on another who became entangled in someone's web of deceit and fell in Love only to find that they had made a huge mistake and married a monster.

I oft times wonder if it was their own child living in fear and pain ... If these self appointed judges would pass such a judgment. One thing that these self appointed judges best ponder on is that even tho it may not their own child, which makes it easy to for them to make statements which force a hurting soul back into that earthly hell, that it is ... God's child.

I want to take this opportunity to say that the Truth shared in this study is not a free passport for you to get out of a marriage so you can get a new man or woman or because things aren't so great at home.

God Forbid ...

But, rather the Truth for those to whom it applies to. If you were married in Love and truly married in God's eyes and you have chosen to become worldly and just want a way out so you can go and follow the trends of today like cattle to the slaughter ...

This Christians Divorce Bible verses on Christian divorce laws Truth being shared in this Christians divorce Bible study is not applicable.

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

But, if you are being hounded about the decision that you have made (or are considering making) to divorce because you live in fear due to abuse or other reasons that make/made it impossible to stay in the marriage and people are using lots of Scripture to show just how wrong you are/were to want to be freed from your spiritual prison and they may have even went as far as to say that you are going to Hell if you did/do divorce.

This Truth will set you free.

These same type of rascals came to tempt Jesus on this very topic as well. It appears that this generation of self appointed judges, like to use what our loving Lord said, as for them to be able to judge God's children.

So, let us really look at what Jesus said about Christian divorce, shall we?

Matthew 19:3-9

3 The Pharisees also came unto Him [Jesus,] tempting Him, and saying unto Him, Is it lawful for a man to put away [divorce] his wife for every cause? [For every reason?]
4 And He [Jesus] answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

7 They say unto Him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Christians Divorce Manual

Christian Divorce Bible Verses Truth

Wow! It sounds like those who choose to marry are stuck in that marriage no matter what. This seems to be where most Religious self appointed judges stop reading Scripture ... But, let's you and I carry on, shall we?

Then ... His Disciples made this statement.

Matthew 19:10

His disciples say unto Him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

But wait ... There is more. What did Jesus say back to His Disciples?

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save [except] they to whom it is given.

Jesus clearly said that this law does not apply to all people and therefore does not apply to all marriages !!! Then Jesus said ...

Matthew 19:12

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Jesus is saying all laws do not apply to all situations.

Let us take a closer look at this part of the Christians Divorce Bible verses on Christian divorce laws used against souls who seek to be free ...

Matthew 19:9

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Here is another place where Jesus shared this:

Matthew 5:32

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Within this one statement, Jesus shares but one exception to this "law" when He says:

"saving [except] for the cause of fornication"

In other words, if your spouse cheated on you, this is an exception to the law and therefore the law is not applicable and nobody on earth has the right to try and enforce it.

One Size Does Not Fit All

I am sure it is so very easy for these self appointed worldly judges to just put all people in one nice stereotyped group, but God sees all and judges the heart of all matters. God knew the heart of man and knew that like everything else that God created as pure. Mankind would find a way to defile the sacred union of marriage.

So, in these few words ...

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given...

Our Lord allotted for situations where mankind would abuse His holy union as not to confuse true Love and marriage with ... Everything else mankind has turned it into today.

Jesus shared this same Truth with a woman of Samaria:

John 4:15-18

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

Trivia Time

The woman asked for the Spiritual Water. Jesus told her to go get her husband. She said that she had no husband. Jesus said you speak well for [because] you have had five husbands ... And he whom thou hast now is not your husband. Jesus is saying that because this woman had been married five times, that in God's Mind, the woman was not married.

Christian Divorce Laws Debate

Keep in mind that this particular event took place before the New Testament. To find the Truth of this matter, let's start by looking at origins of Samaritans we see that they were once Israelites and they were bound by 10 commandments. The woman answered that she was not married because by the time this mysterious stranger had asked her to go get her husband as to obtain the Spiritual Waters, she was convicted and in that Spiritual realm knowing she was in the presence of a Holy being.

She asked for Spiritual Water and Jesus gave it to her. The Spirit of Truth. She was not married in God's eyes. This brings up an interesting Christian divorce laws question ... If a marriage was not blessed by God ... Do the "rules" of marriage apply? Only God knows the heart. Now, let us address another aspect of what Jesus shared with us:

Matthew 19:5-6

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Christian Divorce Counseling Before Christians Divorce
Christian Divorce Bible Verses Dangers

It does not say when two souls get married and have documentation to prove it, that they become one. It says ... What God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Which brings up a rather interesting Christians divorce question ... What if a marriage was not meant to be from the get go? What if it was not holy in the eyes of the Lord?

Many families have been torn asunder by the question of the heart of divorce, despite whether the one wishing to depart from a marriage chose to do so, or stayed in misery due to obligation and/or fear. The Word of God (Bible) says that what God brought together, let no man put asunder.

However, that brings up the question of God honoring every marriage license that the humans (who are given the right by other humans to issue marriage licenses) are willing to make a lil money on.

Remember what our loving Lord told us ...

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

How do you know two souls were married in God's eyes? There is no way one can suggest that many of the marriages of today are God's will. In today's society we see that many couples go from hello to I Do, before establishing a foundation of friendship and it is usually carnally based.

We have people who openly admit that they have married a person for money. We have movie stars marry one another because it increases their value on the world's stage. We have teens who are angry with their parents and run off and marry. We have many that fall victim to someone that deceives them with lies and they marry them. We have those that marry for lust. We have drunken people that marry the night they met at a bar and divorce three days later. These are just a few examples ...

God knows the heart of man and surely does not honor these type of marriages.

These people can have the marriage document, a ring on their fingers, a nodding man or woman who married em for money and shout from the rooftops that they are married, but if God did not bless it, they are not married and it will not endure the trials and tribulations ahead.

Recently, a man who had a "Religious group" was marrying off young girls (minors) from the group to very old men of his "congregation" for money. He was sought out and arrested for this crime. Are those young girls who were caught up in his web of lust and greed deemed as sinners because they were freed from those "marriages" ...

Are they subject to the laws of marriage?

The point is ... No rule can apply to every situation ... Just as our Lord revealed.

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

No my friends, the obvious result from marriages that were not blessed by God may end up in division by divorce as it was never to be in the first place. Is it not possible that they were never meant to be married in the first place as God may not have honored it and did not bring them together and the two souls merely made a wrong choice? Is God then divided against Himself because He wants Love to last forever? God Forbid.

One very important Christian divorce tidbit of truth to remember ... Just because a relationship did not begin proper such as the examples we spoke of earlier. God is not hindered by anything and could certainly bless such a marriage at any time. So, there is no need to blame this study for Christian divorce. If it is meant to be; It will be.

It is mankind's use of marriage that has brought on the divisions and variations of judgment. True marriage is the union of two minds, hearts and souls and they become one by way of Love. Whether God deems a specific Christian marriage to be genuine in His eyes, appears to become the one and only question for one to ponder upon.

Again, I want to take this opportunity to say that this Christians Divorce Bible verses study on Christian divorce laws with Christian divorce counseling is not a free passport for you to get out of a marriage so you can get a new man or woman or because things aren't so great at home. God Forbid. But, rather the Truth for those to whom it applies to.

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

Why Christians Divorce B4 Christian Divorce Counseling
Christian Divorce Bible Verses Hope

If you were married in Love and in God's eyes and you have become worldly and just want a way out so you can go and follow the trends of today like cattle to the slaughter, this Truth is not applicable. How does one discern if this applies to their marriage?

If the shoe fits ... Slap that rascal on Cinderella. If not, it is not wise to try to apply those words, as the results will not be the same. He who hath wisdom, hear this Christian divorce laws Truth.

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

Now, right about now those self appointed religious judges who have already voiced their unwavering opposition to divorce despite all reasoning are itching to quote this Scripture:

1 Corinthians 7:12-17

12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
17 But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches

Paul shares that this is his opinion, not the Lord's command. Many religious leaders like to use this "ruling" to keep women in abusive relationships only to have he relationship end in bitterness and even death. Paul is saying that if a woman has a husband who is not a believer, and the man wants her to stay, he merely suggests that she not leave him because the husband is sanctified by the wife ’s belief (as are the children). But, that if they do split up (divorce) because one of them was not a Christian leaves the marriage, they are not under bondage for God hath called us to peace.

So we have just discovered but yet another reason a Christian can be freed from the bondage of a marriage that was not meant to be. Paul has just confirmed that there are reasons you can divorce and be freed.

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

Funny how these self appointed judges use this Scripture and do not share the Truth. In other words, if these self appointed judges want to use these words against one of God's children, though Paul said it was him speaking not God, then they must accept that a man or woman can be freed if their spouse was not a Christian and left them. Which contradicts their belief that once you marry ... You are stuck in that marriage no matter what.

What if they are wrong about the abuse cases as well? What if they are wrong about everything? We have found that being cheated on and one not being Christian are reasons a marriage can end.

Note: Though, I do not believe a marriage should end because of one not being Christian, just as Paul suggested. See the "Unequally Yoked" study at end of this study. Did we not just read that God hath called us to peace?

The Christians Divorce Bible verses Truth is ... God did not intend man and woman to live in such confusion, abuse and pain and call it marriage, but rather seeks to have us live and Love in peace. That is why He has shared with us a few of these Spiritual loopholes to His law. Why would God do this?

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

Because, God knows the heart of man and that they would pervert His laws and use them for selfish gain and in ways that would hurt His children as they always have. He also knew just how eager some religious leaders were to condemn people and make it too hard for them to enter Heaven.

Matthew 23:13

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

God seeks ways to get us into Heaven, not keep us out.

John 3:16-17

16 For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.
17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

And this choice gave us the opportunity at receiving The Grace of God.

John 1:17

For the law was given by Moses, but Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ.

Christian Divorce Bible Verses on Vows
Christian Divorce Laws Protect You

So, all those self appointed judges that seek to condemn others for this, must have forgot to mention this next Truth. Jesus already spoke on the topic of adultery and this is what He said to those ready to judge the woman:

John 8:7

He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

This Christians Divorce Scripture reveals that even if a woman (or man) left a marriage because of adultery. They can be forgiven. That is between them and God. Who are these "holier than thou" teachers of law that elect to judge God's children ... They should beware, lest they find themselves being judged, as they have judged these lost souls, and them losing God's Grace.

Christian Divorce Tidbit of Truth ... It is very sad that these individuals, who consider themselves to be better than another of God's children (even though, they know in their hearts that they were also forgiven of their sins of the past, and received God's Grace and still sin) and that these people would find it necessary to judge another, in some vain attempt to appear to uplift themselves. Pretending to be doing a God service. Their view makes the Cross, of no effect.

The Christians Divorce Bible verses reveal that only the Lord knows the Truth of your You-nique situation. Obviously, He wants what is best for you, so you must find out from Him what it is that you are to do. Religious leaders, Friends, Family, Paul and I can share our opinions and even scripture, but only God can discern the Truth of your particular matter and guide you down the right path because all situations are different.

If you are considering divorce ... Ask Him in Jesus' name, to reveal the Truth to you. Ask Him to show you His Will. Then trust in Him to reveal the answer.

If you have already divorced ... Do not sit around and judge yourself or let others judge you. God forgives us much quicker than we forgive ourselves. Repent and carry on. Judging is God's job and He believes in mercy, forgiveness and Grace. What can your worry and doubt do but cause additional problems for you? Let go and let God.

What if you were victim of divorce and did no wrong? What if you loved someone and they left for worldly reasons? Good question ... But we both know the answer is not to sit and wallow in self pity for the rest of your life or to allow the choice of that soul to direct your thoughts and steps and live with that plague of fear and pain affecting you, your children and every soul that crosses your path.

So, let me ask you another question on the Christians divorce counseling topic ... What if it was God's Hand that brought forth the division and He is making way for a better path for you, His loving child whose cries He heard and prayers He answered in His way. What if God is calling you to serve Him:

1 Corinthians 7:34-35

34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. [Unmarried, as back then if you were not married, you were to be a virgin. Being reborn, are you not a Spiritual virgin?] The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

Christian Divorce Laws Summary

So, the unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, but a married woman cares for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. If God was calling a man or woman to serve Him. Are we not to walk away from everything and serve Him? Didn't the Apostles? Are we not promised that if we lose anything due to our calling we will be rewarded?

Matthew 19:29

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Once more ... I want to take this opportunity to say that this Christians Divorce voyage into the oft times misunderstood Christian divorce laws is not a free passport for you to get out of a marriage and use your calling as your reasoning. God knows the heart.

Just one more Christians Divorce Bible verses tidbit ... There are many that answer God's calling and are still married:

Matthew 19:11

All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given ...

I will close with something very interesting ... The Israelites had a custom where if a man was married to a woman, and the man died the brother of the man would marry the woman.

Deuteronomy 25:5

If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.

So, these Religious leaders, trying to trick Jesus, came and asked of Him ... Who would be the husband of the woman in Heaven if she married several times according to Jewish custom;

Matthew 22:23-30

23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 And last of all the woman died also.
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the Angels of God in Heaven.

The Christian divorce counseling adventure has shown us that Jesus said that these Religious leaders did not comprehend the Scriptures correctly (Who would of thought that could happen, huh?) Jesus said that when one soul of a married couple dies, the marriage ends. Let that be the reason these words are spoken ... Till death do us part.

So, all of you who have this mental image of showing up in Heaven and being reunited with your husband or wife and the marriage continues in your lil house with a white picket fence ... Jesus made it clear that in Heaven there are no marriages. But rather, we become as the Angels. We become the Bride of Christ. No longer married to a human. Wild huh?

Our Christians divorce - Christian divorce Bible verses study on Christian divorce laws shares with us that if you have divorced ... Ponder not on the past mistakes despite who was at fault. But rather repent if need be and consider pondering on the future possibilities of serving God.
