Let’s take a look at a very popular set of verses from the Bible.

It is in Ephesians Chapter 6 verses 10-19.

It speaks of the ARMOUR of GOD. 

Verse 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might

This "might" or power is explained well in the book of Joshua …

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

 We are to hold our Faith and BELIEVE in HIS power …

Not our own power.

Most try and drive themselves and we all know from past experience how that has turned out.

We must relinquish control of that steering wheel.

Let go and let GOD.

Let’s look at the next verse  …

Verse 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil

 It is NOT a pleasant thought, but a true one that there is an invisible entity who has the intent on getting your soul.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

 Let’s look at the next verse …

Verse 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places

 Ladies and gents …  There is a force out there that is attempting to overtake us all; it is Satan and his imps. There is another force out there that is protecting us from them; it is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit ... It is a battle for souls. This battle is called Spiritual Warfare, and like it or not ... YOU are right in the middle of it. The soul they fight over is YOURS.

Now before you go getting AFRAID …

Remember what we were just told. We MUST be STRONG in HIS might.

Here is some TRUTH that will help bring you that strength.

Luke 10:19-20 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the SPIRITS ARE SUBJECT UNTO YOU; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

 We are told that we DO have power over the enemy of our soul THRU HIM …

We need only wear this armour that we are about to read about DAILY and SUBMIT to God …

THEN the enemy of your soul will depart.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

This next verse confirms this TRUTH …

Verse 13 |Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye MAY BE ABLE TO withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

 Let’s look at the next verse …

Verse 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with TRUTH, and having on the breastplate of righteousness

When we know we are on the right path and it brings forth FAITH. It is FAITH that brings forth this righteousness …

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man BELIEVETH UNTO righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.

It also comes from peace in our hearts and for others …

James 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Which is confirmed in the next verse … 

Verse 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace

 

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Let’s look at the next verse …

Verse 16 ABOVE ALL, taking the shield of FAITH, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked

 Yes, FAITH is our best shield in Spiritual warfare.

The next verse says …

Verse 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God

Now, it says that the Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, so we are to know God’s Word past (The Bible) AND be able to access God’s Word present as well, by way of communing with the Holy Spirit … 

WE MUST OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN OUR ...

HOPE FOR HEAVEN

We must maintain the Hope that we are going to Heaven and going to enjoy eternal life with our Lord.

Let’s look at the next verse …

Verse 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

PRAYER IS ESSENTIAL. NOT ONLY FOR OURSELVES, BUT WE ARE TO PRAY FOR OUR FELLOW CHRISTIANS.

We are also to pray for those called by God to serve Him and share the Word of God.

Verse 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the Gospel

 Paul is someone who has been down the Christian Walk before us and is sharing with us the ingredients necessary to succeed. The armor of God is the best defense a Christian can have in today’s world. Especially considering what Paul said about the enemy of our soul. We don’t fight with men, but rather a spiritual warfare. Things that are invisible are your worst enemy, not flesh and blood. The enemy just uses people to do his will as God uses people to do His.

THIS … Is Spiritual Warfare.

We must CHOOSE to wear this armour EVERY DAY as to DEFEND our souls from being negatively affected and causing our spirit to change. This is the enemy’s favorite means by which to prevent us from sharing the TRUTH. To make us so downtrodden that we wallow in self-pity for how WE feel that day, leaving the TRULY lost … Still in the darkness which we have escaped.

 

It is time for us to be Christian soldiers and wear our armour as we seek out the lost sheep. NOT allowing the fiery darts to penetrate our souls and negatively affecting our spirit.

 

This is WAR … It is time to fight the good fight.

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of FAITH …….

 As Paul Did …

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

 Remember …
